There will always be those who try to cut you down.

They’ll see the work you’re doing to make the world a better place, and rather than being inspired to make their own difference, they’ll envy your impact.

They’ll watch you in contempt as you build communities, overcome obstacles and conquer goals for yourself and others. They’ll stew in the guilt that comes with choosing to spend their precious time on this earth furthering their opinions and winning petty arguments, rather than leaving a positive mark on those around them. They’ll want to feel seen and valued, too.

They’ll lash out with hate, doing anything in their limited power to distract you from your progress and make themselves heard.

But you know they’ll never stop you. They can’t touch you through the fortress of love and support you’ve inevitably built, just by caring for others and doing your best. In fact, returning their vitriol with nothing but compassion, empathy and tolerance only brings you higher.

Always give. Always be kind. Always keep your head held high, because even when the trolls come running – love always wins.
